In maths we looked at different ways of making ten. We played ten fat sausages sizzling in a pan and showed how many sausages were sizzling and how many had gone bang using counters and a tens frame 🧮
To celebrate the King’s coronation we had a parade around school wearing our crowns and a class party 🤴🏼👑 well done to everyone for their amazing crowns! And congratulations to Ilinca who was chosen to be our crown winner by the judges 👑
We loved seeing all the animals on our trip to Knowsley Safari Park 🦁🐒🦏🦒 we were very impressed by the tricks that the seals could do and found it very funny when the buffalo blocked the other classes coach!
To begin our new topic ‘Let’s Explore’ we went on a walk to Mesnes Park and enjoyed a delicious ice cream! When we got back to school we spoke about the things we saw on the way, looked at the route on Google Maps and made our own maps 🗺 🚶♂️🍦 🍃🌸
We used our magic wands to create potions. We created dancing raisins and made bubbling witch’s brew. We loved watching the ingredients react as the potion overflowed!🧙🏼♀️🧪✨
We had great fun celebrating World Book Day 🌏📚! We read the story ‘Pretty’ by Canizales, made and wrote potions and created our own magic wand like the witch! Everyone looked amazing in their costumes 🧙🏼♀️🧪⭐️
What a lovely way to end our ‘Starry Night’ topic! During our pyjama day in school the children created posters about everything we have learnt and ended the day by snuggling up to watch Buzz Lightyear with their favourite teddy, a hot chocolate and tasty biscuit ⭐️🚀🛸
When thinking about our bedtime routine we spoke about how to keep our teeth healthy. We investigated which drinks are the best for our teeth and couldn’t believe the effects the sugar in coke and fresh orange had on the egg shells 🦷
During #childrensmentalhealthweek week we took part in a variety of activities. To end the week each class wore clothes that made them feel happy and created a paper chain. We connected the chains from each class and sang a song to make the other classes smile 💛🌈
Last week we had a brilliant time visiting Clitheroe Castle as part of our Magnificent Monarchs topic. We built motte and bailey castles, explored the keep and curtain wall and learnt how to speak dragonese!
