Interesting today to read @wodieskodie piece in @ScotNational on the skills of crofting which are valuable life skills - “And the skill- the real hard-won skill - is to able to look at a bad set of choices and pick one, and live with it , and move on.”
Watching #BBCSundayShow and interested to hear @JohnSwinney commenting on current political and economic situation - however, I have rarely seen such aggressive interruption of a interviewee. The First Minister kept his calm but the viewer was left perplexed! Not a good look BBC!
Trenchant piece from @wodieskodie this morning in @ScotNational “Powerful men get away with it because while we mump and moan, we continue to tolerate”
John Swinney #SNP on @BBCr4today just now talking about “enhancing the lives of people in Scotland” and viewing an independent Scotland as “co-operating with other countries”. Calm, authoritative and inspiring confidence.
Today’s Babies is going to follow three families from across the UK, who are about to have their first child, for the next five years.
It will shine a light on the ‘postcode lottery’ of parenting, and what it’s like looking after a young child in modern Britain.

“We all want green solutions, but are we willing to pay the price?” @wodieskodie in @ScotNational today. Thoughtful piece highlighting the public’s tendency to criticise small traders for excess packaging but rarely doing the same to the big companies.
“We need the power of energy in Scotland’s hands …………£808 million towards affordable housing …temporary housing must be temporary……Iwill work with local authorities in order to help them share the burden of housing.” #MairiMcAllen in top form this morning on #BBCSundayShow
Listening to @BBCRadio4 just now #theworldthisweekend I am struck by the calm confidence of #JohnSwinney as he responds to Jim Naughtie. This is the man who will lead us to a new, exciting Scotland. @theSNP in 2026.
Completed my day with a visit to Mandala House in Blantyre - the first house built in Malawi. Another valuable day building a strong relationship between Scotland and Malawi. 🏴 🇲🇼

I’ve always thought that the high number of Scottish drug deaths in the UK context was strange. Now it has become clear that between 2011 and 2022 there were 13,000 drug deaths in England and Wales that were not recognised! @BBCr4today
It's hard to imagine a Douglas Alexander inspired revival of Scots Labour. Together with Jim Murphy he oversaw and masterminded the Labour wipeout of 2015. I suppose there's nothing like giving the new generation a chance. And this is nothing like it... https://t.co/mYI2bWW9fX
Good on Martin Geissler presenting @BBCSundayShow just now for asking the question of Douglas Alexander, “Can you tell me - Is this a voluntary Union?” Of course ( for those of you not watching) he squirmed and squirmed but resolutely avoided answering the question.

British £2bn warship that couldn’t operate in warm waters passes 3,000 days out of service…just as well it wasn’t a CalMac ferry, this would on Reporting Scotland every day! @BBCRadioScot@BBCScotlandNews@BBCScotland@DefenceHQ
