The “salamander capitol of the world” just gained a new member, the Cherokee Black-bellied! They are often seen resting on river rocks or poking their heads out of streamside holes.
Please help us keep our salamanders slimy and avoid touching them!

Follow up with another Maine Big Night!! Being from CT this was my first time ever finding blue spotted salamanders!!! And on top of that we found such a gorgeous specimen too
