How did BBC Scotland get it so wrong on the success of the Glasgow Games? One major reason is that the BBC isn't Scottish. No genuinely Scottish broadcaster would have misread the mood of the nation this badly.

Another reason is the BritNat culture within BBC Scotland. This culture grossly distorts Scotland into a caricature of extreme failure where nothing works. Add to that the current politicisation of Glasgow by BritNats who insist it has been failed by the SNP and needs an English style Mayor to prevent catastrophe.

This image of Glasgow, and wider Scotland, prevails within the BBC HQ on the Clyde. Nothing works in Scotland. Everything is inferior to that south of the border.

The BBC has again refused to address a complaint submitted on June 5th after its Scotland editor James Cook claimed the resignation of the SNP auditors was a warning sign that something was awry with the party finances.

Cook made this false claim on June 2nd, exactly two months ago. The BBC initially pledged to address the complaint within ten days. It then added a further twenty days to this deadline. It is now giving no date and instead suggesting the complainant go to Ofcom.

The problem with Ofcom is that it is not obliged to even acknowledge a complaint. Thus, Cook's false claim could simply disappear without ever being addressed.

This is outrageous behaviour by the BBC. James Cook made a claim about the SNP and senior figures that is entirely false. Given the significance of the story and the seriousness of Cook's claim it should have been corrected promptly, not effectively covered up.

Something very, very worrying is happening at BBC Scotland beyond the usual bias. This morning's Radio Scotland Breakfast is acting like a Burnham media machine pushing a 'Mayor's for Scotland' line.

Why is this worrying? Scotland voted against this in May. BBC Scotland is effectively ignoring the democratic process, bypassing Holyrood and promoting policies and ideas the Scottish electorate has already rejected.

At the centre of the propaganda this morning was Fiona Stalker and David Wallace Lockhart. The latter has filmed an item that includes Labour MSP Paul Sweeney and promotes the demand for a Glasgow mayor. Stalker had a set-piece interview with a Labour MP who also demanded a Mayor for Glasgow.

This isn't news. This is quite literally an attempt at bypassing the Scottish electorate and the Scottish parliament by trying to foist English policies onto Scotland.
