“…Experimentation prior to the Smoke War made us share this body.”
It had been difficult, surviving. Escaping both the War and surviving past the aftermath of L Corp’s fall…
“Suffice to say, we have… had to work to figure this out.”
@execLCBmanager “If that is all now, Manager Alighieri, I will take my leave.”
Blunt, straightforward… but there’s definitely more to him. Both of them. What kind of “mask” does he wear?… questions for another time, perhaps.
@execLCBmanager “We do trust each other, and respect each other enough to not do so. There is enough separation between us to allow for full retreat from the body, when needed.”
@execLCBmanager -mean that some of our Identities end up in conflict with each other…”
Their first awareness of Pollux’s Blade Lineage and Castor’s Kurokumo was… interesting, to say the least.
@execLCBmanager “…the latter. Considering we were physically identical beforehand anyway, being twins, it doesn’t mean much for our combat capabilities individually. All our Identities recognize this body as their own… not entirely incorrect there.”
There is a pause.
“It does, however-
@execLCBmanager He shows his ID badge.
Takes out the badge from the slip cover it’s in
And flips it- oh one is on each side.”
“Does this satisfy your curiosity, Manager Alighieri?… Though we have also noticed our Identities extracted from the engine of Mephistopheles differ.”
@execLCBmanager -but it does mean that they don’t have to constantly be repairing both of their weapons…
…and the benefit of only one body needing to be restored by the Manager, each time they perish in battle.
@execLCBmanager “I and my brother would prefer not.”
Pollux deals with the manager’s prodding.
“We have adapted well enough as it is, even if it means only one of us can be deployed at once.”
It’s not as efficient as there being two of them…-
@execLCBmanager “The same to you. From the both of us.”
The twins’ body nods… and turns to depart, allowing the manager to return to their duties. Surely with all the other employees needing to meet… or ‘remember’.
