@MitchyGallo@stosay Not necessarily - but it might end up only being a Struble or Kapanen if so.
Kapanen, Engstrom, Reinbacher, Zharovsky, 2026 1st, 2027 1st are the big trade chips.
@HanekGoat Maybe - I just can’t imagine it’s a Zharovsky + picks package - it has to be more than that surely.
I suspect Larkin will give them 6-8 teams to work with.
Larkin to Montreal would require Hage going back the other way so don't get your hopes up.
Reinbacher is the big trade chip for Kent Hughes I'd imagine with the addition of Dobson this last year.
Larkin to Anaheim for McTavish + Mintyukov is my early guess.
@earlytimes4789@MikeGrinnell_ Jiricek, Benak, Yurov, 2027 1st is kind of an underwhelming package if you assume that pick is 28+
Any more from Minnesota's side (2028+ 1sts, Wallstedt) you risk entering into "holy shit this was bad" territory in ~5 years.
@earlytimes4789@MikeGrinnell_ Minnesota would likely have to give up every remaining valuable asset that they have and I still don't think it would compete with the package other teams could put together.
And to do that - not win the cup - and potentially lose Hughes to Free Agency? Oh boy.
@DanielFalcao__@xTechHockey I ... don't think they will.
KH didn't want to move Hage for Thomas who is as good or better than Larkin.
I think Beniers for Reinbacher+ makes a lot more sense as Seattle desperately needs defensemen.
@JFreshHockey my gut says Anaheim for Mintyukov & McTavish - I feel like Yzerman is going to just double down on his young core and use this as a chance to add more assets and be a lottery team for one more season
@jpolly22 idk if Benak, Heidt, Yurov and a 2027 1st would get it done but that's about all that Minnesota could stand to offer.
and if they ended up not making the cup final and losing QH for nothing after the Parise/Suter fiasco ... Wild fans might lose it.
@Laf4MVP_ I don't think Habs are #1 as much as I'd love Larkin in Montreal
Unless KH decides he will move Hage (I doubt this) we don't really fit as a trading partner - they have Seider + ASP so Reinbacher isn't really of interest to them.
Barzal for Reinbacher+ seems more likely to me.
@JFreshHockey I feel like if you're New Jersey and trading Hischier it's only because you are trying to free up money for Quinn.
Otherwise they should just give Nico what he wants and call it a day.
