Trying to get into Mina the Hollower, but it does that thing where if you die, you have to go back to the exact same spot you died to recover a resource otherwise you are penalized. Why the hell are we putting a system like this in an OPEN WORLD GAME!?
The only result of death systems like this is a hinderance of player freedom. If I wanted to retry a fight, I'd do so on my own. Don't steal my wallet and hide it inside of the enemy I died to, because if I choose to go anywhere else in this massive open world, I'm now walletless
I genuinely can't understand why they implement systems like these in games. I'd rather they punish me equally upon every death rather than my deaths resulting in the game suddenly ceasing to be open-world unless I choose to put myself at an even bigger disadvantage.
@kiwitalkz Does anyone have info on Reece’s track record with info on unannounced games? Haven’t heard of him before but I see people treating this like a big deal so I want to know what’s up.
@ApolloKage@FireThePyro So you complained about a claim that was never made in a video you didn’t watch? The assumptions made in the post are literally the exact opposite of what the video says and what the creator believes.
I’m confused as to how/why the post is still up
It feels icky to judge an international community like this. This should be obvious, but I just want to make it clear that this isn’t a judgement against Chinese people. I just take issue with the STS2 community that exists there. It’d be the same if it was any other country.
The discourse surrounding Slay the Spire II, specifically the game’s difficulty and Chinese review bombing, is so fascinating. A perfect example of the Dunning-Kruger effect manifesting in a *singleplayer* game’s community, and of how entitled the average gamer is.
Tldr, the average gamer would rather complain that the game is being ruined than accept that they can’t perform as well without their crutch strategies, all without considering why the changes they dislike so much were made in the first place and how they actually affect the game
