I enjoyed our discussion this week on our online presence as we enter the age we are: about to graduate, hopefully start our careers. I think that we do have rights to post as we please and maybe our social media profiles shouldn’t dictate who we are, if employers can view them.

Going off of our lecture today on the Snowden leaks, I believe I’ve come to a point where I accept that the government is surveiling us. I do take my privacy seriously but I’m also careful about what I share online, more so now than when I was younger. #CommonTech311

When do you all think there will finally be a decline in deception? It seems as though a large majority of people end up getting caught or come clean. We live in a time where people find out almost everything, especially via the internet. #CommOmTech311

@KinzieMontague @facetuneapp I know many girls that I see on a regular basis that use facetune. I find it ridiculous to edit your photos to such an extreme that you look like an entirely different person. You can still tell that it’s them but it’s very deceiving. #CommonTech311

@MeganBinder6 I saw this on my feed a few days ago and it really made me question why we choose to trust social media sites. We don’t know who has access to our information, and some people are naive enough to believe that just because our account is private no one can access our information.

@MeganBinder6 Going off of this, emojis are a way to express how we're feeling to someone in greater detail so there isn't any misunderstanding. Even the simple use of a period can make someone think you're upset. Emojis are a way to express emotion over text.

It's crazy how live tweets give us so much more insight than news in the 1990s and prior would have, as we discussed in class today. Details such as him sniffling, or him yelling, may or may not have been reported after the hearing for the public to know. #CommOnTech311

We’ve been talking about the release of the three new iPhones today in class and I find the only difference to be the size. I don’t believe their camera can get much better for a phone camera. I have the iPhoneX and I’m curious if I would be able to notice any of the changes.
