As it’s 24 days until my last day at Emmerdale as of yesterday, bought myself an advent calendar. This means you can hire me as a chocolate fuelled Development Assistant/Assistant Script Editor/all round good person at any time from now!
Despite seemingly a booming industry in Scotland, the number of office based or in-house jobs are still so small. It’s forced me to move to England to start my editorial career and will likely mean I can’t sustain it if I go back to Scotland.
Very interesting read and not surprising in the least. As a Script Editor who is based in Scotland and is reluctant to have to relocate, I hope something changes. Too many talented creatives are leaving the industry because of lack of opportunities and it's not sustainable...
@SophieAMitch When Lizzie first tells him she can’t come to lunch, and Freddie says he understands, it almost made me cry. Outstanding writing and performances.
Every time I’ve seen a post of Saoirse Ronan recently I regret not trying just a little bit more to get to meet her on The Outrun because she honestly seems like the best person
‘Industry’ has been renewed for Season 4 at HBO.
The news comes ahead of the penultimate episode of Season 3, which will air Sunday night https://t.co/L1kmWaqBTA
Catching up on a bit of Grace on ITVX and I just think Arthur Darvill is incredible. What a great role for him and a good twist in the ep. Such a nice production for Brighton to have too, maybe set to take over from Vera?
@PHampford That’s what’s advertised to young people for sure, but non-‘adults’ (and being in your 30s isn’t that young) can watch anything they like… and I think would do if they knew it was there.
I love Doctor Who, but barely anything like it exists with a consistent season reorder anymore. I watched some of The Responder tonight, and got super excited to see the Colin From Accounts return date just now. Plus I’m buzzing for Industry S3. BBC is unparalleled in its output.
And that’s why the BBC care so much about Doctor Who & the 16-35 age range.
Even myself. Doctor Who & The Apprentice is really the only programs I now watch constantly with the BBC.
If it wasn’t for Doctor Who. I’d likely hardly use iPlayer & I think a lot of others same boat.
IMO, the BBC doesn’t have an issue with shows for the age range, it just struggles to promote them. And like all traditional TV it can’t keep up with the fast pace of youth attention spans being damaged by TikTok.
Moreover, if you continue to associate these events, you are perpetuating a social media lie which has caused the violence, and frankly should face legal consequences for doing so.
Not only is this (legally, if not morally) factually inaccurate, if your response to the actions of one person makes you think it’s okay to burn families alive en masse, you can only be part of the problem.
@GuyLambertUK We need better political education in schools so people understand how and why they should vote. And it needs to be a much more accessible process! Don’t know how 24% gives you any political capital.
