Started our STAAR Blitz with a Tour of Knowledge of our Brain Dump (Reference Chart). Students broke down Staar questions by Question Type and then into sections like Equations, Area, Volume etc. This helped them see the breakdown of the test and how helpful brain dumps can be.
My 2nd Pd students won bragging rights from all my classes for having the highest passing rate on their 9 Weeks test. With their next test coming up, I let them “trash talk” my other classes to motivate them for higher scores. These students love competition!
Students asked for and received a review on Scientific Notation, done through stations. They completed a Matching Puzzle, Real World Investigations, and an Error Analysis Word Problem.
Probability Mini-Stations today for Saturday School! Giving students the hands-on engagement from verbal descriptions to help them make connections to the problems. @ParklandMS@jortiz_P_
Finally got to “bring the bling” to celebrate my students’ accomplishments. My two best performing classes on the Fall Interim (Advanced & Regular Math) got the Golden Ducks and G.O.A.T Chains, plus bragging rights! Got donuts and pizza for them as well. @ParklandMS@jortiz_P_
