If a facility is a proper single sex service, it is by definition justified (legitimate + proportionate) to exclude *all of* the opposite sex

You do *not* then have to show it's justified *again* in order to maintain the exclusion against a sub group of the opposite sex

Re the Darlington nurses and the heartbreaking story that Karen courageously told at the weekend. For a long, long time I chose not to speak publicly about having experienced sexual assault in my youth, because I knew it would very soon become the 'explainer' as to my feminist campaigning. When I finally did, it was in order to give a stark example of one of the reasons we need single sex spaces and support. I resent, like hell, the reason I chose not to speak and the reason I subsequently felt compelled to.
