The family claims Mutua demanded Ksh.2,500 from them. Jane’s brother sent Ksh.1,000, but when he failed to send the remaining Ksh.1,500, Jane was allegedly killed. Patrick , her brother, said he tried twice to report the matter at Kabete Police Station but was turned away both times.

Despite Africa’s median age of 20, young women remain severely underrepresented in decision-making spaces—from parliaments with less than 1% of young women represented to student councils with less than 5% female presidents.

We brought together over 70 young women leaders👩🏿‍🎓 from various universities nationwide under the theme “She Leads Now: Amplifying Young Women’s Civic Power." 💪🏾 The young women had the opportunity to interact with established women leaders. They built networks across campuses and, through movement building, created unified strategies against barriers such as gender-based violence.

Most importantly, these young leaders are now matched with mentors committed to supporting their leadership journey beyond campus—creating a direct pipeline to increase women's representation in national leadership. #SheLeadsNow #Youth4Advocacy
