Grade 3/4 French Immersion teacher. I believe in growth mindset, restorative justice, reflective practice and the power of a great read aloud. I love to learn!
Working on reader's theatre, we watched this video: https://t.co/vBLRUwOK3j
And one of my smarty pants guessed exactly what I was going to teach! Acting and reading with emotion in your voice! They loved this quick video.
Our next series of *snack time reads* has been this collection of books about the diversity of families from @epic4kids. A great series for us as we just recently spent time studying the importance of diversity of representation in books. https://t.co/C9S6WU8yWZ
The last two weeks we've been reading stories by and about indigenous people of Canada and we've learned so much! Modern day life, historical ways of life, residential schools, art and more. Still trying to grow my library if you have any recommendations!
Spanish tile art progress! We've been working on coloring in the different shapes with a variety of values from light to dark to add dimension and they are so lovely!
In love with our Spanish tile art project on the go! We discussed radial symmetry and used miras to trace the reflections. Super fun and what beautiful results!
COVID-19 cases are rising in Nova Scotia. There are things every one of us can do to help stop the spread.
- Keep your social circle small and consistent and always follow gathering limits.
French book recommendation: Nouvelle Partie! These stories about 'Super-Lapin' happen inside a video game. Lots of humour and very engaging for everyone. I just got a pack of 7 for $35 from Scholastic and they are flying off our library shelves!
We used miras to draw congruent shapes. Very cool stuff! (and more than a few students tried looking at the world through 'rose-coloured glasses'... 😂)
We ❤️ food chain tag! We've been noticing what happens when we change the ratios of producers, herbivores, carnivores and decomposes in our game... Ecosystems in and out of balance!
@TILTHRCE I am seeing that @epic4kids is being blocked by our webfilter. Anything we can do about this? This is an important resource I use very frequently.
