@Jogindr03433060 AC/DC is a transient phase in IPS. District SP is a lucrative assignment so no cravings for CPMFs. Its only DIG and above they hunt for greener pastures. Climate not conducive in state, go to centre. Other attraction is to go near home, earn medals and perks

@Jogindr03433060 IPS has 40% central deputation quota. Logically this intake has to be divided proportionately in the cadre pyramid providing bulk of deputation at the lowest rung but they find it profitable in states upto SP level and choose to avail only top slots in CAPF

@Jogindr03433060 Now that CAPFs have cadre officers recruited, trained and groomed to specific role, MHA proportionately reduced IPS IPS deputation. IPS perhaps may have a role in organisations like IB. CBI, SPG, BPR&D, NPA NCRB etc which do not have a dedicated cadre

@Jogindr03433060 Article 312 of constitution provides for creation of All India Services with a stipulation that they shall be common to union and states. It never mandated IPS to head CAPFs. Their services had to be utilized until CAPF didn't have a cadre of their own.

@heeracjs Heera sir, in my view if a vacancy occurs and an eligible officer becomes due,it is not only blatantly unfair it is a criminal act on part of the persons accredited with holding of DPC to withhold promotion even for a day.There must be stringent instructions

I am sure, you have never led troops and definitely not conversant with what goes in an operation on ground. Here the leaders lead the operation on ground. Their leadership, tactical acumen, fitness, courage and bond with the troops is that which makes the operation successful

Leaving their own role to encroach into an unknown area to only promote their career prospects doesn't make sense

@Jogindr03433060 Thankfully we live in a democratic setup where judiciary is still untouched by extraneous factors. Grant of OGAS to CAPFs is not under dispute anymore and the norms of OGAS are also well defined and settled by DOPT. No amount of maneuvering by CIPSA will work. Be rest assured

@Jogindr03433060 Abhinav, this kind of verbal warfare is meaningless in the light of clear verdict by Apex court and DHC. You like it or not, law and the country recognizes CAPFs now much better and clearer than ever before
