#b329leadershipchallenge Those who decided to do it on their own I applaud you, I should have done the same. The angst, guilt if life got in the way and others waiting on you, no meditation and quite frankly hard work. Its emotionally draining
#OUB329 wk18 EMA builder. I never want to do another collaborative project that does not count towards the mark. At least give us a few credits for participation and submission. I understand it is to help us practically but come on OU. Rewards matter.
#OUB329 wk17. The first was a poem by Maya Angelou and the second a book by Alex Haley. Both made me pause, self reflect, critically think of how I can lead social change if only for a moment.
#OUB329 wk17 Social Change. We tell a story and use 5 ingredients to effectively bake a cake everyone wants a piece of and wonders why didn't I know this existed. Applied this concept to 2 written pieces that moved me to action. What stories moved you?
#OUB329 wk16. Activist leaders who are populist leaders in disguise? How many Insulate Britain protesters kept warm in their Helly Hensen jackets, gold watches, expensive walking boots get up. Search web images and play bingo - too many to spot.
#OUB329 wk16 - Activist Leadership. When a protest is more about disruption than the cause, they lose their trust and voice. People focus more on the chaos and selfish behaviour than what the protest was for. Resistance can be done more effectively.
#B329OU@Christo65108202 Resistance leadership and it can be applied in all aspects of my life. Asking a teenager to clear their room took me through resistance, four faces of power and more. ππΆ
@B329Leadership#B329Chat A4 - its a wicked challenge because drugs in schools have been around for decades and has never been fully resolved. The community and access to drugs for kids, seeing paraphernalia in parks should not be the norm.
@B329Leadership#B329Chat A3. I'm collaborating in a group, I was late to join and missed a few of their first conversations which is one of many Challenges in a collaboration. Different work/commitment issues to agree on times to meet is another.
@B329Leadership#B329Chat A2. Drugs in schools, its an issue that we see in the news/tv and media. I still recall the dreadful 'just say no to drugs' talk in class where no-one (inc. teacher) watched the video. It needs to be addressed
@B329Leadership@Barry_Verdin#B329Chat A1 - lol, still learning this tweet stuff. I have found the wicked challenges and different leadership personalities the most helpful, but the most insightful is about resistance
#B329OU_week14 Place based leadership. I agree the community has a great influence on leadership challenges, tackling national issues at a community level helps the people quicker - food drives, free advice and even a cup of tea to bridge loneliness.
#B329OU wk14. Homelessness - the entrepreneurs (Individualists) use your talent to find a way to enable homeless people to use their voice, have an identity and been seen as a human being that can access info, support and help in this digital age.
#B329OpenUniversity#wk14 all about finding elegant solutions to challenges and different leadership styles to complex wicked issues. Think on about homelessness in the UK, is it easily solvable? Why is it still an issue, who cares enough to fix it?
#b329leadershipchallenge so I'm in a group, a bit late to the game because January has been an emotional and mental wreck. But we have to move forward and step up as leaders regardless of the inner turmoils we have
#OUB329 wk10, who knew followers can influence leaders when they have no power. I certainly didn't and then to also discover 'relational leadership strategies' has made me consider my own approach to complex issues both at home and in work.
#OUB329 wk9, it turns out I have excellent shared-leadership characteristics and am a collaborative leader. However I do need to grow in promoting diaglogue rather than debate. This is something I will explore further.
