Notice the water on the surface? ๐ง
The salt draws water out of the cucumber through osmosis.

Drop a flat sheet of paper and a crumpled one at the same time.
The crumpled paper usually hits the ground first.
It's not heavier.
It simply experiences much less air resistance
Fill a glass with very cold water.
Leave it on a table for few minutes.Notice the water droplets forming on the outside of the glass?
The water isn't leaking through the glass.The cold surface cools the surrounding air, causing water vapor in the air to condense into droplets.
