8 years ago today, Iver was born.

My wife, Robyn, who’s brain had stopped working, but her body and heart had been keeping Iver alive for weeks 22-28 of her pregnancy, would be taken off of life support.

The 5 hours between meeting Iver and saying goodbye to Robyn were the hardest moments of my life. I lost my wife, but I was given the gift of becoming a father to my little miracle man.

Iver was born 2lbs 13oz, and we spent the next 12 weeks in the NICU before I came home with him.

Today, he’s 8. He’s incredibly smart, funny, caring, outgoing, loving, thoughtful, adventurous, and kind. I’m grateful for every day with this wonderful boy, and for the gift of being his father.

Tomorrows Mother Day, i lost my mum so unexpectedly in 2019 she went to bed with a headache an feeling tired an never woke up the next morning. She wasn’t sick or had any health problems. I spoke to her on the couch at 9pm an by 6am she had gone. Pls cherish every moment u have x
