The FCC wants to hear from you about encryption coupled with future ATSC 3.0 over the air TV format.

Tell the FCC that we do NOT want our local TV encrypted so that we have choice in how we can watch it.

Channels v5.6.0 for iOS went out last week as well. Along with the tvOS changes, it adds these:

• Downloading now works over cellular.
• Optionally use lower qualities when downloading to save space. This will transcode on the fly as it downloads.

These are off by default.

Original Quality Delivery allows you to force HLS even while at home on Original Quality.

This lets you use HLS for unstable Wi-Fi networks and is a great trick to enable longer buffers for devices without enough storage.

Channels v5.6.0 for tvOS went out last week with some nice additions:

• Spoiler Free Mode will hide thumbnails of unwatched recordings.
• Original Quality Delivery will let you swap between Direct and HLS at home.
• Big performance improvements for larger libraries.
