Tom yum with a Russian address 🍜
Sweet, sour, spicy, and fragrant, with notes of lemongrass and lime, Thai tom yum soup has long been traveling the world. Restaurants from Bangkok to Riyadh serve it. And the base for this soup can come from the Moscow region.
On September 28, Tamaki presented its new products at Restaurant Inspiration, a gastronomic event in St. Petersburg. Among them was a tom yum base that helps chefs get this beloved, instantly recognizable flavor faster.
The company's products are shipped to 25 countries. They are certified under the "Made in Russia" national brand promotion program run by the Russian Export Center.
Asian flavors, Russian production, and happy customers around the world: that is what modern gastronomy looks like.

Why kids around the world love Russian cartoon characters 🎒
A mischievous little girl in a headscarf and a long sarafan has won over children across the Arab world. In the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman, Masha from Masha and the Bear is one of the most beloved characters, and the series ranks among the top three most popular children's brands in the Middle East. In Arabic, its title is «ماشا والدب».
The secret behind the success of Russian animation is simple: kind stories, humor kids can easily follow, and characters children see themselves in. That's why these shows are readily translated into other languages. For example, Mi-mi-mishki (The Cuddly Bears) is available in 11 languages, including Arabic.
Now a new generation of characters is hitting the road: the Backpack Buddies. The playful trio, Ryuk, Boti, and Moli, has reached Saudi Arabia, where Saudi viewers can now watch series from the Mechtalet studio. Their adventures have already aired in 28 countries, and in June the characters got their own spin-off, Backpack Buddies' Tales.
Animation is a vibrant part of cultural exports: along with cartoons, stories, values, and interest in Russia travel to other countries. The "Made in Russia" national brand program, run by the Russian Export Center, also helps introduce the world to Russian ideas and products.
Kind characters easily find their way to viewers, from Khabarovsk to Riyadh 😊

What a city looks like from three feet tall 🏙️
October 31 is World Cities Day, observed by decision of the United Nations. More than half of the world's population now lives in cities, so the way cities are designed shapes the lives of billions of people.
Adults judge a city by its roads, buildings, and routes. Children see it differently: as a place to run, climb, explore, and spend time with family.
Back in 1996, UNICEF launched the Child Friendly Cities Initiative. Its idea is simple: a city that works for children works for everyone. That's why a good playground is more than a slide and swings. It's where children learn to cooperate, try new things, and discover how the world works.
Leber, a Russian company whose swings, slides, play structures, and science playgrounds carry the "Made in Russia" mark, creates spaces like these. In Riyadh, it installed a science playground right inside the cabin of a Boeing 777 at Boulevard Runway.

Spaghetti, penne, shells: meet pasta from Russia!
Long spaghetti for sauce, short penne for a baked dish, shells for soup: every pasta shape has its own role in the kitchen. And good pasta is easy to spot: it holds its shape and doesn't turn mushy.
The secret is flour made from durum wheat. MAKFA spaghetti, for example, is made from it. Durum wheat gives a firm dough, so the pasta stays springy after cooking.
MAKFA is a Russian producer based in Chelyabinsk that makes pasta, flour, and cereals. The company ranks among the world's top five pasta manufacturers.
The company's pasta is certified under the "Made in Russia" national brand.
Pasta with tomato sauce, a baked pasta dish, or soup with shells: simple meals that bring the whole family to the table. The program promoting Russian products under the "Made in Russia" national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center, helps introduce products like these to customers abroad.

A bird, a palm and a boat: what the "Made in Russia" logo means 🕊️
The white, blue, and red bird is known to business partners in many countries, including Saudi Arabia, where it welcomes visitors to the "Made in Russia" national pavilion in Riyadh. But this logo is more than an emblem. Like a good puzzle, it holds several meanings at once.
🔹 The bird. We deliberately moved away from stereotypical images of bears, balalaikas and red caviar. Instead, they chose a dove in the colors of the tricolor, a symbol of peace, openness and crossing borders.
🔹 The palm. Look closely at the outline of the wing: it suggests an open palm. This is a gesture of openness and readiness for dialogue and partnership.
🔹 The boat. The whole silhouette resembles a sailing boat, the kind of vessel on which Russian merchants once carried goods to distant lands. Today, this image speaks of Russian products moving across the world and of free international trade.
The white, blue and red of the Russian flag bring these meanings together as a national code and make the sign understandable without translation.
A bird, a palm, a boat: which one did you spot first?

Pizza of the future: how plant-based protein is changing everyday food 🌱🍕
Pizza, nuggets, a hearty snack… and not a gram of meat. Plant-based products are no longer a niche: Saudi Arabia's plant-based meat market is projected to grow by about 20% a year.
The trend fits perfectly with Saudi Vision 2030 and its focus on healthy living and careful use of resources. Plant-based protein means familiar flavors and less saturated fat. It also saves water: growing crops takes far less water than raising livestock.
While local production is gaining momentum, retailers are looking for ready-made solutions. One of them is Foodgital by the Russian brand Goryachaya Shtuchka: 4 Cheese and Margherita pizzas, nuggets, and other plant-based protein products. Every product in the line carries the "Made in Russia" mark, and the line is already been supplied to Saudi Arabia.

AI solved in 6 hours a mystery historians couldn't crack for 217 years 🤖
An encrypted letter from 1809, dating back to the Napoleonic era, remained a mystery for more than two centuries. This fall, an AI model helped engineer Carter Church read it in just six hours. Inside was a briefing on troop positions on the eve of the Austrian campaign.
Stories like this show what artificial intelligence can do. Saudi Arabia knows this well: the Kingdom's Council of Ministers declared 2026 the Year of Artificial Intelligence.
Russia is also developing strong AI solutions. Smart Engines, for example, builds systems that recognize documents in more than 100 languages, including Arabic, in a fraction of a second and verify their authenticity. The company's Smart ID Engine and Smart Code Engine products carry the "Made in Russia" mark.
Future technologies are already in our hands. Are you ready to put them into practice?

Buckwheat: a Russian grain worth trying 🥣
If you like rice or bulgur, buckwheat could become your new favorite side dish. It's fluffy, with a gentle nutty aroma, and pairs well with chicken, meat, mushrooms, and vegetables.
In Russia, people grow up with buckwheat: it's cooked for breakfast, served as a side dish, and added to soups and salads. It cooks quickly and doesn't need complicated recipes. Also buckwheat contains no gluten, so it's a popular choice for people with gluten sensitivity and those who follow a gluten-free diet.
One Russian buckwheat brand is Mistral. The grain is grown in the Altai region. The kernels are selected for their large size and cleaned in several stages, so the buckwheat cooks up clean and fluffy. In 2024, Mistral buckwheat won gold at the Product of the Year competition.
"Product of the Year" is a Russian national award for mass-market consumer goods. It recognizes the products shoppers favor most, from groceries to household goods.
The brand's products carry the "Made in Russia" mark. It is granted to products certified under the program promoting Russian products under the "Made in Russia" national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center. Mistral buckwheat is already familiar to shoppers in Saudi Arabia.

A Saudi tenor takes the Bolshoi’s historic stage 🎼
Saudi tenor Marwan Fagi performed at the BraVo International Music Awards gala in Moscow. He is a singer, songwriter, and producer whose releases include the album Taraneem Almatar. At BraVo, he was recognized in the category for classical performers from Saudi Arabia.
In April 2026, his voice filled the Bolshoi Theatre’s historic stage. For the Moscow audience, it was a chance to hear a Saudi artist live. For Fagi, it was an opportunity to bring his work to one of Russia’s best-known stages.
A musical introduction can continue beyond the concert hall—in a recording studio, for example. That’s where an artist’s voice meets technology: a microphone helps capture subtle changes in tone, breath, and expression.
In Russia, Tula-based Oktava DM makes this equipment. Its professional wired studio microphones and wireless concert microphones have received Made in Russia certification. They offer a tangible example of Russian products for people who create music and work with sound.
The program promoting Russian products under the Made in Russia national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center, helps international businesses discover manufacturers like Oktava DM. For recording studios, concert venues, and distributors in Saudi Arabia, it offers an opportunity to explore equipment for their needs and start a conversation with a supplier.
Can a pattern on a cup tell you where it comes from? ☕️
Fine blue lines cross white porcelain: the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory’s Cobalt Net pattern. Artist Anna Yatskevich created it in 1944. Today, it decorates more than a hundred different items, bringing a familiar design to a range of shapes and objects.
The announced collaboration between ARTDOM Riyadh and Russian Seasons explores a similar idea: how cultural heritage can become part of contemporary design. Its concept brings together selected works and objects that explore Russian craftsmanship and today’s creative perspectives.
The Imperial Porcelain Manufactory offers another example of that dialogue. Its range includes tableware, vases, decorative objects, and artists’ creations. For designers, hoteliers, and restaurateurs in Saudi Arabia, it’s a chance to consider porcelain as an expressive part of an interior. A cup or plate can tell a story, too.
The manufacturer holds Made in Russia certification and participates in the promotion program under the national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center. The program introduces international audiences to Russian products, including pieces that bring craftsmanship and design together.

Before the first punch, the numbers on the scale matter 🥊
Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and Christian Mbilli are scheduled to meet in Riyadh on October 31 for the WBC super middleweight title. Before they enter the ring, there’s another important checkpoint: the official weigh-in. Fighters must meet their weight-class limit; being in great shape is only part of preparing for a title bout.
Accurate weighing matters beyond big-time boxing, too. Russian company MASSA-K makes scales for retail, manufacturing, medical facilities, and sports institutions. Its VEM-150.3-A1 model, for example, has a maximum capacity of 200 kilograms. The separate display can sit on a desk or be mounted on a wall, and the scale can transmit readings to external devices through an RS-232 interface.
For equipment buyers, those practical details matter: how to read the display, position the unit, and integrate it into existing workflows.
The promotion program under the Made in Russia national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center, introduces international businesses to Russian manufacturing capabilities. Weighing equipment offers another reason to explore what these manufacturers can produce.

A great match can make you want to get out and play 🏃
Riyadh Season returns for its seventh edition on October 21, bringing ten weeks of sports, concerts, theater, and family entertainment. With boxing, martial arts, and tennis on the lineup, there will be plenty of athletes to cheer for. And the energy can carry over to a neighborhood workout.
Russian manufacturer Leber makes equipment for these everyday spaces: pull-up bars, outdoor fitness machines, obstacle courses, and workout stations. Its equipment is already installed in Riyadh. A site in Dirab District, for example, features a Dune workout station, fitness machines, and a set of pull-up bars. Users can build their own routine with pull-ups, parallel-bar exercises, and gymnastic rings.
Several Leber product lines have received certification under the Made in Russia national brand. The promotion program under this brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center, helps international partners discover Russian manufacturers.
For developers and public-space planners, it’s an opportunity to explore equipment that turns an open area into a place to move and connect.

Three days in September. 419 reasons to keep the conversation going 🤝
Looking back at the Saudi Food Show, held September 27–29 in Jeddah: Russian manufacturers represented under the Made in Russia brand took part in 419 B2B meetings over three days. The potential export value of those discussions was estimated at $77 million.
Behind the numbers were introductions between producers and prospective partners. For a buyer, a trade show is a chance to see a product, ask about ingredients and product ranges, and discuss packaging and cooperation. For a supplier, it’s an opportunity to better understand a market’s needs.
These meetings are a starting point. Moving from an introduction to a shipment takes work, including agreeing on documentation, samples, and commercial terms. The potential export value reflects the scale of the opportunities explored during the talks.
The program promoting Russian products under the Made in Russia national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center, helps create opportunities for these business connections.
That’s how we remember September: full of meetings and conversations about the place Russian products could find in the Saudi market.

Mango meets chili in a bag of gummies 🥭🌶️
The combination of sweet and spicy has a name: “swicy.” In 2026, this food trend continues to evolve, with hot honey and spicy mango appearing in baked goods, snacks, and confectionery. A familiar fruity flavor gets an unexpected twist — with a little heat.
Russian manufacturer Salbro offers its own take on the pairing: mango-chili gummies. For those who prefer fruity combinations without the heat, there’s pomegranate-raspberry. Two different ways to try something new and find a favorite.
The company makes CHI-WA-WA gummies with added fruit juice. Its extruded gummies have received certification under the Made in Russia national brand.
The program promoting Russian products under this brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center, helps international businesses connect with manufacturers. For buyers in Saudi Arabia, that conversation can start with a tasting: comparing flavors and discussing which combinations to offer local shoppers.

Can a conversation about a film lead to a joint project? 🎥
The third Moscow International Film Week took place August 24–30, bringing together film professionals from 19 countries, including Saudi Arabia.
Its business program featured a session titled “Moscow–Saudi Arabia: A Cinematic Bridge to the Middle East.” For directors, producers, and other professionals, meetings like these create room to discuss stories, filming locations, and future collaborations.
Those conversations can lead to discovering individual Russian films. The program promoting Russian products under the Made in Russia national brand, implemented by the Russian Export Center, also includes cinema, helping introduce Russian projects to international partners.
One example is Saisary Cinema, a film company from Russia’s Sakha Republic, also known as Yakutia, and its film Triumph. The project was among the first in the film industry to receive Made in Russia certification in the “Uniqueness” category. The national brand brings together physical products and original stories made for the screen.
📷From the first “beep-beep” to working in orbit 🛰️
On October 4, 1957, the world heard the brief radio signals of Sputnik 1. The first artificial Earth satellite was about the size of a beach ball and completed an orbit in roughly 98 minutes. Its launch marked the beginning of the space age. This year marks its 69th anniversary.
In the decades since, space has become a workplace for researchers from many countries. In 2023, Saudi astronauts Rayyanah Barnawi and Ali Alqarni traveled to the International Space Station. Barnawi, a biomedical researcher, also made history as the first Saudi woman in space. The crew spent about nine days in orbit.
For a child, the story of a satellite — or astronauts from their own country — can spark an interest in space. How does a spacecraft know where to go? How does it receive commands? Students can begin exploring questions like these through a school engineering project, starting with programming a small drone.
The Russian educational quadcopter Geoscan Pioneer Mini 2 gives school and college students hands-on experience with programming, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. Its onboard system processes data without a server connection, while students can develop their own algorithms for autonomous flight and object recognition.
The quadcopter has received Made in Russia certification in the “Uniqueness” category. For schools and learning centers in Saudi Arabia, it offers an example of equipment that can turn an interest in flight into a student’s first engineering project.
