Grade 1s have been learning about 3D solids with @McBryantweets. Soon we will be learning about structures, so as an inquiry prompt during free play, I put out the 3D solid manipulatives and challenged students to build the tallest structure they could!
This morning a student spotted a cardinal out of our window! We took the time to watch as the female bird washed herself in the puddle and the male bird stood guard on the fence. The first signs of spring are here!
The rain and wind came at a perfect time for us to explore wind energy! We created our own boat designs and observed how the wind energy moved the boats.

We didnโt have an advent wreath in our classroom, so we worked together in partners to trace our hands and make our very own advent wreath. This is such a special addition to our prayer table!

Returning to the classroom after lunch recess can be a difficult transition. Grade 2s spend 15 mindful minutes each day at this time to help self-regulate and prepare for more learning. Students choose colouring, play dough, reading, drawing, etc.
