This morning, the federal government turned the full force of the Department of Homeland Security against a sitting member of Congress for the offense of disagreeing with the White House.
The path to citizenship should not be weaponized against anyone, including Rep. Ilhan Omar, a naturalized American who swore an oath to this country โ the same one that I took.
The promise of citizenship should not be contingent on someone agreeing with the federal government.
Madelyn exhales deeply, her smile returning. But also giving Emily a good flick on the forehead.
โ Damn right ya should've! You should know it'd take a lot more than fire to kill that bastard. โ
She ruffles Emily's hair a little, patting her on the head.

โ When asked who started the fire, the shuts her mouth, as if some sort of protective nature overcame her. It was not his fault.
โItโs no oneโs fault but my own for walking into a burning building to save him. I should have been more careful, have more sense . .โ
Mangle looks like she wants to. . . well, do /something/, lord only knows what, but stops herself. Her smile is almost gone.
โ Two more questions. What about your children? And. . . โ
She pauses for a few moments.
โ who set the fire. โ
โ โBut, I underestimated the fireโs ability to slow me and wear me down. I reached him, but . . The ceiling collapsed on me, and I could feel my skin โ . . anyways, Iโm dead now, I suppose.โ
She softly spoke, eyes averted, she didnโt like to think about her demise.
Madelyn chuckles, then lets her down. Her smile still warm, but faded. Her tone a little more serious.
โ But seriously. William was in pretty bad condition, even for him. What happened? โ
Madelyn just gives her the same warm smile as always, pulling her into a hug that lifts her into the air. Seems ghosts can physically interact with each other.
โ Emily! You look a little different. Did you do something with your hair? โ
