Palestinians were not a people but a reference to geography specific to the Holy Land. Neither Jews nor Arabs considered themselves ethnic Palestinians as unified identity. It's a second century Roman designation for conquered Jewish land simultaneous with the Roman exile of Jews. It doesn't convey anything about Arab or Jewish identity.
