@AlexKale17 Thank you!! I’m so happy to be feeling healthy again. Definitely don’t mean to fear-monger with this thread (thx to vax+booster I was never deeply worried, even while very sick). Lots about our cases didn’t play out like the CDC describes though, so wanted to share details here.

Just wanted to share my experience 4 anyone curious. Good news is I’m recovered🙏🏼, and my sister and fiancé are on their way. But this latest variant seems to be a whole new beast and I would NOT want to get it again. If you’re still being cautious, you’re doing the right thing!

Ironically and unrelatedly, my sister and her fiancé are currently fighting COVID. They’re also young, healthy and 3x mRNA vaxxed but both have really nasty cases with high fever and even respiratory trouble (my sister has no asthma hx & is newly prescribed multiple inhalers).

@ToddHorowitz3 @duane_g_watson My sister can confirm this. She did an astrophysics grad degree on string theory and said it was SOP to have non-academic astro-hobbyists attend conferences and confront her with very intense/wild/insane questions during her presentations 😂

@AlexKale17 So sorry to hear about this reaction :( People are definitely tired…my family also got super defensive about their decisions to proceed (boosted and with lots of testing) and I don’t think they’re *wrong*. My thing is, this wave will likely be over quickly, so why risk it now?
