The City’s asbestos abatement contractor started work at Northridge Mall this week & discovered two honey bee hives. Instead of exterminating them, the hives were captured & relocated to a farm in Walworth Co.  Hopefully, they will continue to make honey for many more years! 🐝

The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (RACM) was awarded $3.5 million in federal funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). RACM is dedicated to remediating contaminated properties across all City neighborhoods.

Today we gave local students tours of Port Milwaukee’s terminals on Jones Island - including a stop on the S.S. Alpena!

It was all hands on deck today as local students had the unique opportunity to climb aboard the S.S. Alpena! This steamship is the oldest self-powered vessel on the Great Lakes, chartered by Holcim.
