During National Night Out, we enjoyed giving out our reminder bands and sharing how they can be used to prevent a child from being left in a hot vehicle. We gave out almost 100 and hope to see all of them in use!

Last year, 36 heat-related vehicle deaths of infants and children occurred nationwide. One of these tragedies occurred in Clark, SD. It can happen to anyone and 26% of deaths have occurred by a child gaining access to a vehicle without an adult knowing.

Research shows that wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of fatal head injuries by approximately 40% and nonfatal brain injury by 60% or more. If you are in an ATV accident please watch for signs of head injuries.
