In Russian-occupied Oleshky, civilians are trapped in a humanitarian crisis, cut off from the help they desperately need. Families are struggling to survive, and people who want to escape have no safe way out.

Food supplies have been cut off since late May.
Every passing day brings more suffering, fear, and uncertainty.

Ukraine’s FM Andrii Sybiha is calling on the international community to mobilize every available tool to deliver humanitarian aid and ensure the safe evacuation of civilians.

The people of Oleshky cannot wait any longer. They need food, water, medical assistance, and a safe way out.

Timothy Snyder calculated that russia would need 12 months to conquer Europe!

Despite all of Europe's advantages, for now Ukraine is the front line that has prevented those 12 months from even starting to be counted down.

Europe has done everything possible to knock the main foundation out from under itself — common sense. And now it is a castle built on sand, swaying from external gusts of wind and internal typhoons.

Ukraine, meanwhile, is bleeding, going through terrible times, but holding on despite limited external support and our greatest internal enemy — stupid, corrupt bureaucracy.

Yesterday, I spoke with people working on countering jet-powered drones. Some critical components can now be made by only one person in Ukraine — and he is 60 years old. The other specialists who knew how to make them are no longer with us.

Years of poor decisions and the senseless use of human resources have cost us irreplaceable specialists. And now, when their skills are urgently needed, we are discovering just how badly we need the people we failed to protect and save.

And that is how it is with so many things.

And now, when Chinese components are no longer enough because the speeds are too high — oh, suddenly it turns out how useful these people would have been, except they are gone!

And that is how it is with everything here.

By chance, they found another craftsman at the front, after asking a hundred people in related professions all across the country. They are now bringing him back so he can make these unique components together with our man — and he survived at the front because volunteers like us supplied him with everything he needed and kept him as protected as possible!

Bring common sense back wherever you are in life!

For most of this walk, it was just long stretches of highway.

The odd gas station. Endless fields. The occasional small interaction with someone that made the day a little easier.

And now, for the first time in weeks, I feel like I’m walking back into civilization.

Village after village. Places to stop for coffee. Roadside fruit stands built entirely on trust. Sunflower fields. People honking when they see the flag on my back.

With every step, I can feel it.

I’m getting closer to home.
