This is incredibly reductive. Different people “hate” or have great concern about AI for different reasons. Some might have a very simple understanding of what is happening and may form very knee-jerk fear responses to it. Many others, myself included, have spent years trying to understand the capabilities of AI, how and when they will manifest, and what that ultimately means for the world writ large.

There is no doubt that it will begin to enable us as humans to create and discover new, absolutely mind-blowing things. Breakthroughs in medicine, science, communication, law, transportation, food, etc are already beginning to roll out and show promise. Moreover, I’m a firm believer that we cannot stop progress, we can only hope to guide it.

But therein lies the rub. WHO is guiding it? And for that matter, to what ends? These are questions that give me great pause when I consider just how benevolent a force AI will be in this world. Electricity in the hands of evildoers poses no real threat to the people. AI, on the other hand, poses the highest risk possible when wielded by those who wish us ill.

I believe the light wins, no matter what, at the end of it all. But also, I believe we may be headed down a long, dark tunnel before we get there. 🙏

We have some of the worst politicians here in California. Sadly, Katie Porter is closer to the norm. Most fail upwards. They just jump from one political position to the next. They only care about personal power. You can never get rid of them. Prop 50 will just make it easier for the worst to keep getting elected here in CA.

How about actually voting for the person, not the party? How about researching a proposition instead of just reading the title or following what a commercial or mailer tells you to do? Local & state elections affect you and your family so much more than national elections. Every single thing in life isn’t about Trump.

Doesnt every Californian deserve public safety? Don’t we all deserve affordable homes & the ability to purchase affordable homeowners insurance to raise our families in safety? Everyone deserves good roads, safe public transportation, good jobs and really good schools for our children.

If you don’t care about the safety of a voter because he or she just isn’t in your political party, then you don’t deserve to represent all of us. We’ve had 15 years of really bad governance here in CA. If you want more of the same, keep voting for those Katie Porters. If you want things to actually get better, how about just voting for a good candidate who has integrity and actually cares.
