Feels like everything you need to know about DJT‘s moral compass is encapsulated in this one post. The upside is that of the couple hundred comments I read, they were overwhelmingly from Trump supporters and overwhelmingly critical.
Capricious. Malevolent. Childish. Par for the course.
As an exercise, try to imagine the uproar from the White House if Carney increased tariffs in response to an ad campaign run by one of the states…

@MillerTimeCars The petition was put up by me. No hidden agenda. It's exactly what it says. I'm tired of seeing "Imported by Sunfresh" or whatever, but not saying where it's imported from, etc. It's needlessly frustrating, and I'm hoping most Canadians are as frustrated as I am.

I’m pretty excited to be going through to the 2nd round in my first MicroFiction challenge. I came 5th in my group and the top 15 go through… Round 2 starts tomorrow at midnight.🤞
The 1st Round results for the 100-word Microfiction Challenge 2025 are up at https://t.co/9pv7Tq5bdi! Congratulations to the top 15 in each group for advancing to the 2nd Round, which kicks off this Friday, May 16th. Best of luck to them, and thanks to all who participated!
Back in Feb a friend said it was getting difficult to tell satire from reality. Earlier today I had to spend an hour I’ll never get back convincing myself that Trump really did post this (he did, on Truth Social) and that the White House really did repost it (they did: a screen grab on X). These are deeply unserious times.
Irony: Like most Canadians I'm actively seeking ways to buy Canadian, avoid buying US etc. Ironic, then, that the only online purchase I've made recently, which turns out to be from a US supplier (not always easy to tell): a "Gulf of Mexico" ball cap. 🙂
@gator_gum One of my favourite lines from #Oscars2025: @yuval_abraham referring to @basel_adra, his co-director on No Other Land: “Can’t you see that we are intertwined? That my people can be truly safe if Basel’s people are truly free and safe.” We are indeed all intertwined.
By all accounts Stephen Schwarzman seems like a decent guy, and there's no disputing the wealth he has created for Blackstone shareholders and many of the companies they've owned. Nonetheless, this is an eye-popping number and hard to fathom in a needy world.
@marklearns @fordnation You nailed it. Dude is the master of distraction. Healthcare or education looking a bit messy? Ooohh, look at this shiny object over here.
All in, putting alcohol in corner stores will have cost the province $1.4 billion. Coincidentally, @fordnation's election-eve promise committed $1.4 billion to get all Ontarians connected to primary healthcare. #AskAnOntarian: would you have been willing to continue going to the Beer Store or LCBO for your beer and wine, if it meant you and all your neighbours could get access to a family doctor? #onpoli
I’m kind of liking @fordnation’s Captain Canada schtick, and in truth the man does shine in a crisis (e.g. early pandemic) but on the day-to-day grind of running the province: a bit of a train wreck, right? #DoFo#onpoli#cdnpoli
