I just want to thank you Madsters for the kindness & support you've shown me throughout the years here. Even when I doubt myself, you remind me to hang in there. After this last year of battling cancer, having to get a new laptop, etc. I won't lie I'm tired. You keep me going.
Good /rainy thundery/ morning Madsters ☕️⛈️ Happy #Monday - Well this was unexpected... got woke up when thunder boomed overhead & rain started pouring. We weren't even in the zone they were forecasting rain for. But we'll take it.
Enjoy your #LaborDay stay cool stay safe ✨✨
Some people don’t want to see you fall.
Oh, no, no, no.
That would be too obvious.
They simply smile while placing one little stone after another into your pockets—
and call it love.
Isn’t that delightful?
They feed your doubt and call it concern.
They remind you of your failures and call it honesty.
They tighten the chain around your ankle and insist they’re keeping you safe.
And when you finally try to walk away?
Oh!
Now you’re selfish.
Now you’ve changed.
Now you’re the villain.
How predictable.
You see, they never wanted you beside them.
They wanted you beneath them.
But here’s the funny part—
the moment you finally stand tall enough to see the chain…
you realize they were never strong enough to hold you.
Only heavy enough to slow you down.
So walk away.
And when they tell you that you’ve changed?
Smile.
They were never afraid of losing you.
They were afraid of who you might become without them.
More than 100 string instruments have been discovered in ancient Egyptian tombs from the New Kingdom alone. Paintings and wooden models (first image) in burial chambers depict musicians playing harps, lutes, and lyres. In the so-called Tomb of the Harps, archaeologists found fragments of four cedar angular harps—this was an exciting new musical innovation in Egypt.

His job was to take care of me, to safeguard my life and my well being, not to fall in love with me. Not with me... the one who waits where the shadows gather, soaked in the velvet scent of phantom orchids that grow in my darkness.
And yet, every night, he would come.
He would wrap me in those arms as warm as the sun itself, placing playful kisses on lips that longed for him... and taking my breath away with every touch. There was an urgent yearning between us, the kind that belongs to two people who know they are crossing a line and continue walking anyway, convincing ourselves that it was only impulse guiding us... or so we wanted to believe.
Our midnight silhouettes were reflected against the wall, intertwined and burning, while moonlight spilled through the window and illuminated us... Each kiss took me higher and higher toward a heaven I didn't know if I deserved, but still longed for with all my being.
In those moments, we were everything: lovers, friends, poets creating sonnets through the swaying of our bodies, and souls condemned to the uncontrollable passion of a love that burned within us... I was fascinated by the way every molecule in my body reacted to his touch, as if somewhere, destiny had decided I was his even before we met.
He was supposed to keep me safe, not become another thing I could lose. He was supposed to safeguard my life, not place his own heart inside it.
And still, no matter how afraid we were, the love that coursed through our veins became impossible to deny. It was happiness... our happiness... dangerous, overflowing, and touched with a divine sweetness that made me want more and more of that angel.
So, with every passionate kiss, he sealed his destiny alongside mine. And maybe loving me was never part of his duty, but, apparently, neither of us had ever been very good at obeying what we were supposed to do.

He left, I stayed on,
he was the breeze
that wrapped around me
on hot summer evenings,
monsoon's tender drizzle,
autumn's barren day.
Now his letters are #palimpsests,
making room
for ink not yet written.

From the #palimpsest
a variety of silent inks vanished,
the history that was,
ceding ground to what is;
The world's old law,
time's turning wheel:
death after life spent,
and birth after death.
So the universe
works overtime
giving space to unmade.
