#vss365
There’s a river of darkness
Flowing through my veins
Blackens my daydreams
Sinks my soul
To out of reach depths
Bubbling in the empty
Because without you
Moon stars sun blur into naught
These are my eerie #evermore hours
when kindness
and compassion
are labeled weakness
and tolerance is sin
diversity is deviance
and acceptance betrayal
we are no longer human
but animals
culling the herd
~ RC deWinter
She walks with him occasionally in the dappled light under the ghost-gum trees
The beauty and sadness of grief is that it is not always near but it never leaves
Apologies today's #vss365 poem is a little too long for x but every time I tried to cut it down it lost something. Although it's deeply personal I hope it also has a wider resonance for anyone who has lost a loved one.

Painted in the haiku before the rain:
counting all the paths
down from the river’s head
where we meet
the haiku is written so that it can be read in any order.
still need to paint in the rock and finish the current. only a few more days to go!
His soul feels soft on hers
in this shadowbox of #midnight shivers,
where twin candles pour flame on fire
and #victory is a lovers’ tangle…
soft gasps,
faint as summer’s last breath
only they can hear.
