Accurate, accessible data is vital to understand and address climate change, digitalization, demographic shifts, maternal deaths + gender-based violence. @UNFPA enhances decision-making by modernizing censuses and using geospatial technologies to ensure everyone is counted.
At #APStatsCST9, I emphasized the need to harness data to ensure we #LeaveNoOneBehind.
On Monday's #YouthDay & every day, the @UNYouthAffairs Office & the entire @UN family stand with & for young people.
Together, let's draw on their energy & ideas to shape a more sustainable future for all.
#OurCommonFuture
The stories from people of #SIDS that I’ve met through the years tell me that remoteness is about life and death. It's the pregnant woman struggling to reach a clinic, the nurse waiting for critical equipment, and the youth choosing between leaving their homeland or facing unemployment.
These challenges, amplified by the #climatecrisis, need interconnected solutions that leave no one behind.
Thank you #Australia for organizing this important discussion on the sidelines of the #SIDS4 to unpack what remoteness means and what more we can do for small island communities.
Our message from @UNFPA is clear: We believe in upholding the principle of 'leaving no one behind' by ensuring that no individual or community is overlooked. This means rejecting distance, cultural barriers, costs, and other challenges as excuses when designing our programmes.
Let us seize this moment to reaffirm our collective commitment to the well-being & resilience of #SIDS, particularly of it's women & girls, through partnerships, innovation & solidarity for an inclusive and sustainable future for all.

7 years. That's how long 1 million #Rohingya have been living in these overcrowded refugee camps in #CoxsBazar.
Ever since, @UNFPA has been on the ground providing women & girls the supplies, services, and information they need to uphold their sexual & reproductive health & rights, despite the challenges. This includes actively engaging with adolescent boys to create a safe space for all.
@UNFPA calls on all our partners to help support the Rohingya to live in dignity.

Asia and the Pacific is at crossroads. Building inclusive sustainable societies in times of significant demographic change requires strengthened collaboration for #OurCommonFuture.
On day 2 at #CPD57, together with @UNESCAP, we brought together key players to discuss emerging socioeconomic challenges and to highlight the importance of regional cooperation following up from the #APPC7 held in Nov last year to review #ICPD30 in #AsiaPacific.
Today, @UNFPA commemorated 30 years since the International Conference on Population and Development and its evergreen Programme of Action.
Together, let us commit the investments and urgent action needed to bring the promise of the ICPD real to all those still waiting.
