Wait, do neurotypicals actually think it’s rude when you connect something they say to your own experiences? How else do you show that you understand? How do you keep the conversation going? /gen
@W4rriorPr1nc3ss @AskADHD I've a very dear friend who's autistic n has been a great support. it's not about disliking autism, it's just not my diagnosis
me: I'm not autistic
psych: maybe you are tho
me: I don't feel autistic
psych: what if u are tho
me: uh
I've tried explaining her 3 times, haha

@W4rriorPr1nc3ss @AskADHD I do realise this makes me sound ableist, but I've actually done some research on autism and its traits and I came to the conclusion it's not some I experience.
because I misworded something during our last conversation, my psych thought I might be autistic. I explained to her that I did some research about autism and don't identify with it (in fact there are many traits I don't experience at all, the ones I do experience 1/2 #askadhd
are the traits that overlap with ADHD....aka my ADHD traits) and explained all of this to her and she seemed to understand. I recently got my official diagnosis and it still says "might be autistic"
is this normal for a psych? #askadhd
