Welcome to hell, where some humans actually believe that something that looks nothing like an “email” from any modern messaging medium that has ever existed is a “smoking gun” revealing a conspiracy that never happened. Hop along and get us the Epstein Files, @FBIDirectorKash.
@FBIDirectorKash I cannot believe this has to be said out loud, but here we are: an “email” that looks nothing like an actual email is not a smoking gun. I’ll take the Epstein Files now.
@aktange I love Hardy's Two on a Tower and Swithin St. Cleeve (who has a great name!) is decent. He is a little naive, but he's no fool and he's the foil to a truly monstrous man, whose abuse of women echoes his love of murdering animals in the colonies. It teaches well too!
Biden needs to stop hiding behind imaginary protocols that he made up for the occasion, grow a pair (of labia), and just ratify the damned ERA. Read the article. It’s worth being as enraged as I am about how fucking simple this could be if we could commit to women’s equality. 🤬
@MsKCabrera@marveloustvclub@AmandaMarcotte@MarcFaletti I haven't seen it yet (I know; for shame!), but I'm pretty excited to check it out since Wanda is so central to the story. Fellow Wanda-stan, @kippinsk from charactercast also has thoughts! Curious to hear yours!
Alito’s draft heavily references English legal precedent, including that of famed jurist Sir Matthew Hale who, it should be noted, had at least two women executed for witchcraft and wrote a treatise supporting marital rape
According to the @nytimes, "Chief Justice Urges Inquiry, Calling Leak an ‘Egregious Breach’ of Trust." What's that about an "egregious breach of trust?" every thinking American woman asks. https://t.co/6qE1bQ1U9T
What Alito does clearly remind us, though, is that the Supreme Court is not a democratic institution. At best, it's oligarchic. And even at its best, it is currently posing a threat to our democracy. #expandthecourt
Here's the thing: when Alito says, "And far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, Roe and Casey have enflamed debate," he misunderstands something fundamental about democracy.
Because democracy is an unfinished project. And that's a good thing. If it weren't, it wouldn't be democracy. It would be something else: could be fascism or monarchy or oligarchy. But it wouldn't be democracy.
Storycast was pretty intense this week! Fitting after an emotionally challenging episode of #MoonKnight.
