Being a Youth Peace Champion means living a story of joy and resilience, forging a collective narrative of triumph amid challenges. It's about a shared commitment to shape a harmonious future through compassion and unity. #nextgen4peace#EndVAC#SeeTheChild#YPC#activism
At the commemoration of Global Red Hand Day in Maiduguri, Borno State, Fatima Muhammad says that children who were previously recruited into armed groups should be treated as victims, adding that returning children are often unjustly judged for their past actions.
As the UN turns 80, true progress isn’t measured by speeches or reports, but by how we keep children safe from harm.
Because while some things can wait, a child’s safety should never be pending. 🕊️

This week I listened to families affected by conflict. Their stories reminded me that vulnerability is complex, some carry scars, and some have caused one.
Protecting children in these contexts means looking beyond labels or judgments, and choosing humanity first. #SeeTheChild
Often times, children are under attack in wars, in homes, in silence.
No child should be burned. No child should be beaten. No child should grow up in fear.
Peace starts with protection. Act now. Speak now. Protect now.

Serving humanity isn’t charity, it’s justice.
It’s showing up when the world turns away.
It’s dignity over indifference.
It’s humanity over politics.
serving humanity is costly and risky but always purposeful.
Happy WHD 2025.

For a while now, I have name each year of my life like a chapter. The one I’m closing today is COURAGE.
And I’ve learned: it takes confidence to break cycles like the cycle of violence against children.
Let’s be bold enough to start cycles of safety, healing & hope. #SeeTheChild
August 2024-July2025 my year of battle. There were opportunities I missed.
Rooms I wanted to be in. Conversations I had to sit out. Not because I didn’t want to but because I couldn’t be everywhere. Because I was tired.Or just figuring life out.
My new year begins in few days.🥳
Self-discipline is saying NO even when no one’s watching.
I love Coke. But I’ve gone 2+ weeks without it because I’m breaking patterns of addiction.
That’s self-discipline.
Saying no to distractions. Sleeping instead of scrolling.

Yesterday our women made history. 🇳🇬
Now imagine if every child affected by conflict was protected, healed, and empowered not out of pity, but as their right.
Who knows, the next Super Falcon may be one of them.

Midweek thought.
Someone built a home for children last weekend. Beautiful. But also a reminder — kids deserve more than shelter. They deserve peace.
Be that one adult you needed when you were a child. The law says protect them. But we should go beyond the law.
#SeeTheChild
Children are not meant to survive fear.
They are meant to grow in safety, with love and dignity.
We owe them that.
We owe them protection, not punishment.
