In a land soaked with blood of Cameroonians, Pope Leo tells the peace meeting in Bamenda Cathedral:
"The masters of war pretend not to know that it takes only a moment to destroy, yet often a lifetime is not enough to rebuild."
"They turn a blind eye to the fact that billions of dollars are spent on killing and devastation, yet the resources needed for healing, education and restoration are nowhere to be found. Those who rob your land of its resources generally invest much of the profit in weapons, thus perpetuating an endless cycle of destabilization and death. It is a world turned upside down, an exploitation of God’s creation that must be denounced and rejected by every honest conscience."
The pope appealed: "We do not choose our brothers and sisters: we simply must accept one another! We are one family, inhabiting the same home: this wonderful planet that ancient cultures have cared for over millennia."
He also stressed interreligious character of peacebuilding efforts in the separatist region:
"As one of you observed, the crisis impacting these regions of Cameroon has brought Christian and Muslim communities closer than ever before. Indeed, your religious leaders have come together to establish a Movement for Peace, through which they seek to mediate between the opposing sides. I wish this would happen in so many other places on earth! Blessed are the peacemakers! But woe to those who manipulate religion and the very name of God for their own military, economic and political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth. Yes, dear brothers and sisters, you who hunger and thirst for justice, who are poor, merciful, meek, and pure of heart, who have wept — you are the light of the world! (cf. Mt 5:3-14)."

The Chief Imam of the Buea Central Mosque, El Hadj Mohammed Aboubakar, delivered an emotional and sobering address to Pope Leo XIV at St. Joseph’s Metropolitan Cathedral in Bamenda, in a rare and powerful display of interfaith unity.
Speaking on behalf of the Muslim community, he recounted the growing toll of violence in Cameroon’s North West and South West regions, detailing attacks that have directly targeted worshippers. He recalled the events of November 14, when gunmen stormed a mosque during prayers, killing three people, and spoke of another massacre that left more than 14 dead, plunging the community into grief and fear.
The Imam stressed that the ongoing insecurity has spared no one, cutting across religious lines and affecting Muslims and Christians alike. His presence at a Catholic cathedral underlined a shared message that the suffering of the crisis is collective, not confined to any one faith.
In his closing remarks, he appealed for international support and prayers, insisting that all Cameroonians—regardless of religion—deserve peace, protection, and the chance to live without fear.

I couldn’t hold back my tears😭🇨🇲.
What a powerful message from Anglophone Cameroonians to Pope Leo XIV !
Big Thank You To Arch Bishop Nkea For Saying It As It Is! 🖤✊🏾
Not being biased, but Anglophones are so organized!
No disorder, everything is moving smoothly at the Bafut airport as the pontifical mass is going on. I'm enjoying every segment of the historic events.
I respect the organizers.
I’m seeing people asking what’s the use of the pope’s visit in Cameroon.
I guess it’s just anger that has filled your hearts. Can you see what is happening in Bamenda now ? The smile , the joy, and the hope he has brought today ?
I’m so happy for the people that live there.

Today, we held a peaceful march in Limbe against child rape, and I am happy to report that it was a huge success. It was an honor to march alongside administrators such as our very own Madam Mayor, the Delegate of Limbe 2, all of the NGOs that made this event possible, and my fellow colleagues @LoicSumfor and @BlackCoCo_237 , who joined me in conveying this very important message and raising awareness in our community.
I am more than thankful! 🙏🏽
