In Islamic and Middle Eastern folklore the world is filled with strange and amazing beasts and monsters. Though the djinn are certainly the most famous, tales relate stories of hybrid creatures and magical beings
A thread on legendary and mythic creatures
I love my nephew to pieces. He sent me a text msg 9 days ago and I just answered him. His response is hilarious: "It's been 9 days, feels like we're using telegraphy. Is it the year 1743?"
Gosh, he is driving me nuts. I always called him "my lamb" in turkish (kuzum) as a child. It's a very very endearing term.
Now my all grown up nephew asks me "what is the lamb's auntie doing?"
@shomman_ Im conflicted but I will ask her what this endeavour would entail for me. So I will make my final decision after I know more details on how much more work.
Istg Im so tired of having these convos and discussions everywhere I go. And because Im affected by it on a personal lvl, ppl think it's about me. No it's freaking not. How are ppl not seeing the msg it sends, the issue with it?
We use questions like "Does your peer group consist of 1) germans 2) foreigners 3) mix of both"? in surveys.
And the problem is, foreigner is equated to ppl with a immigration background (that's another phrase used for 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. gen immigrants)
And no one sees a problem in it? If I would not raise my issues with it at my work place, no one would freaking care? Just looking from a legal perspective: It's plain wrong. But it goes deeper than that.
On some days my work place reminds me how much I hate the conversation around PoC topics in Germany. How on earth are we still calling 3rd, 4th gen immigrants foreigners?
