Today we join the nation in Bindura to commemorate #IWD2026 under the theme “Rights. Justice. Access for all women and girls.”
Nearly 1 in 3 women in Zimbabwe has experienced physical violence since age 15, according to the ZDHS 2024. This is not just a statistic, it is a call to action.
Rights must be protected in practice, not only promised in policy.
Equality before the law must translate into:
• Safe, responsive courts
• Accessible and affordable legal aid
• Survivor-centred systems that protect dignity and prevent re-traumatisation
Justice must move from paper to practice.
Justice must work for survivors — not against them.

As Africa unites to celebrate football, we also celebrate girls and young women who are fearless, bold and unstoppable.
Young people at Tariro Youth Centre, in collaboration with @PlanZimbabwe raised powerful voices to say:
💬 I am fearless, bold and unstoppable.
💬 My dreams matter, my voice counts.
💬 My body, my rights, my future.
At UNFPA Zimbabwe, we believe that when we invest in girls, we secure the future —for communities, for nations, and for Africa.
Watch, share and stand with her. 🎥💪

🎉 Celebrating Wellness and Togetherness at UNFPA Zimbabwe! 💙
Today, we officially opened our UNFPA🇿🇼 Wellness & Chill Out Room a dedicated space for staff to #recharge, #reflect, and #reconnect with themselves amidst the important work we do every day.
The launch was made extra special as we also came together to celebrate colleagues who had their birthdays between July & September 2025. 🥳
It was a beautiful reminder that at #UNFPA, we are more than a team — we are a family. We celebrate milestones, nurture wellbeing, and continue supporting one another as we work to deliver a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled.

Strengthening #GBV response in 🇿🇼!
Last week, with support from the #HealthResilienceFund, UNFPA & @mwacsmed conducted a capacity-building training for multi-sectoral teams from the Gwanda, Gweru and Epworth #GBV One Stop Centers.
The training equipped teams with vital skills in:
🔹 Disability inclusive GBV service provision
🔹 Trauma informed care
🔹 Survivor centred approaches
🔹 Inter-agency collaboration
It also provided space for reflection, sharing experiences and fostering stronger, united teams committed to delivering quality, holistic GBV services.

Young leaders are stepping up as peer educators, breaking the silence on taboo subjects like menstrual health and sexually transmitted infections with courage and care.
By equipping themselves and their peers with the tools to make informed choices, young people are not just solving problems today, they are building a foundation for sustainable development for generations to come.
It is their voice, their action, and their courage that will echo into the future. 🧡 #InternationalYouthDay
