One of the teens involved in Pop Smoke's murder has reportedly been sentenced to four years in prison for smuggling Fentanyl into a juvenile detention center.

On Thursday (Aug. 13), Deijae Jester, 21, was handed the sentence after previously pleading no contest to possessing 25 fentanyl-laced pills that officers say his mother helped him smuggle into Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall in December of 2025, the Los Angeles Times reports. Prosecutors were seeking a five-year sentence.

Jester's mother, Nickia Randall, is currently in custody in San Bernardino, Calif. She has yet to enter a plea on the narcotics charges.

Jester was one of four people charged in connection with Pop Smoke's robbery and murder at a California rental home in February of 2020. He admitted in a recorded jailhouse conversation to pistol-whipping and shooting the Brooklyn rapper in the back, and was convicted of murder in 2023.

However, since Jester was only 15 at the time, under California law, he could not be held past 25 years old. Jester will be transferred to state prison to serve the additional four-year sentence.
