Returning to in-person for #defcon32 felt kinda like a 2nd first time, ESPECIALLY how many people I got to meet after spending ~1000s of hours together online. Four years and at least a dozen shared volunteer shifts in, finally meeting @S4t4n1212 in person was so, SO fabulous!

@p_syche_ They make a TON of appliances for US consumers, so I don't think they have an abnormal number of recalls for the overall number of products, but the customer support is just abysmal and I will go out of my way to avoid having their appliances in the future.

WOW @Frigidaire support sucks. My top-loading washer has a safety lock for some reason, and it won't unlock. They recommend chat support (great, perfect) where I waited two and a half hours to be matched with an agent after the chatbot collected my info.

"We'll help you fix your washer and retrieve your laundry in 60 days" is worse than useless, and @Frigidaire didn't tell me it wouldn't work for this until I asked when the term would be, because I was confused they offered a year when the initial warranty expired 2 years ago.

So then I called @Frigidaire and explained the problem... and they recommended I purchase an extended warranty that doesn't go into effect until next January??? to resolve my wet laundry being locked in a closet now???
