The Moment…

The clock is ticking down. The ball is in our hands. One final dribble… and suddenly, every early morning, every late night, every drop of sweat, every tear, every sacrifice and every doubt led to this moment.

They said we weren’t good enough. Some thought they were too good to play with us. Others questioned the team, the coaches and the process.

But these girls stayed together.

They trusted the work. They trusted each other. They trusted the process.

And as the final seconds disappeared, Team Hickory 15U didn’t just win a game we completed the journey and became Run for Roses Platinum Division Champions.

Then the horn sounded… and the calm turned into pure joy.

This is what happens when you stay committed, block out the noise and refuse to stop believing.

They questioned our players.
They questioned our coaches.
They questioned whether this group was good enough.

The one thing they underestimated was what happens when people refuse to quit on each other.

This picture isn’t just a championship photo. It’s the story of a team that chose unity over excuses, belief over opinions, and grit over comfort. Every player. Every parent. Every coach. We stayed together when it would’ve been easier to listen to the outside noise.

Championships aren’t won because everyone believes in you. They’re won because the people inside your circle believe in each other.

This is Hickory Grit.
This is Leave No Doubt.
This is Be Somebody.

To our girls: you never asked for permission to be great. You earned every possession, every victory, and every ounce of respect. You didn’t silence the doubters with words. You did it with your work.

We’re proud of this championship, but we’re even more proud of the character it took to earn it.

There isn’t a better group.
There isn’t a better culture.
There isn’t a better family.

These girls are enough. This staff is enough. This program is enough.

This Saturday, athletes from Team Hickory Basketball Club are proud to partner with the Hickory Soup Kitchen and the United States Postal Service for the nationwide Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive one of the largest coordinated food drives in the world.

At Team Hickory, we believe basketball is bigger than the game. It’s about leadership, service, and using our platform to impact the community around us. During a time where so many families are facing hardship, our athletes are committed to helping those in need throughout the Hickory community.

From sorting donations to serving alongside community leaders, our players are learning that true success is measured not only by what you achieve on the court, but by how you serve others off of it.

We are thankful to continue this annual tradition and stand alongside organizations making a real difference every single day.
