I urge everyone to go see this movie, as quickly as you can. Don’t just watch it, but actually understand it and realize that the epidemic of child trafficking is real, and so close to home.
All of this to say - Child Trafficking doesn’t only happen in 3rd world countries. It’s here. It’s happening. Our world is scary, and it is so much more unsafe than it used to be. The best message I could get from this movie was that HOPE has to be had.
I teach 3rd graders - they’re 8. It was hard for me to separate that little boy from the kids that walk into my classroom. It caused me so much pain to picture their young, innocent lives being ruined in this way.
This movie stirred up a ton of emotions in me, obviously, as I feel it would do to anyone. Something that struck me deeply was the 8 year old boy the story followed. The things he had seen and been forced to do at such a precious age.
This story follows the heroic venture of 2 siblings who were trafficked from their home country and the man who fought to save them, and countless others while also capturing trafficking king pens in Columbia.
It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆) I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness. I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing… and living to speak about it. With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th. Pre-order now at https://t.co/m3KNl71qrY 💜💜💜
