Me at ER for cardiac issues
Dr: “Could you be pregnant?”
Me: “No I had a hysterectomy”
Dr: “You look too young for that? Are you sure?”
Me: “I’m confident”
Dr: “I think you might be confused. Maybe it was your appendix.”

The premiere of Everybody's Work was amazing! To be in a space surrounded by nurses that I admire and respect is priceless. Good times and good memories. I am honored to be part of this historical movement in nursing.
SHIFT Nursing #EverybodysWork
Some thoughts at the end of #NursesWeek.
It’s been one where my heart wasn’t in “celebrating” being a #nurse. The world feels heavy. There is so much suffering. It’s been hard for me to focus.
But this is a week of honoring my call to nursing & our future:

This work - uplifting nursing students' experiences in active struggle - is finally out . I think of nursing students around the country who are silenced when asking & speaking up about genocide in Palestine. https://t.co/xEBVe0yLNa
Nurse staffing in sync with pt acuity is consistently linked to better pt outcomes when compared to inadequate staffing.
Hospitals undervalue nurses and understaff their units because most of the time, they get away with it.
The best nurses’ week gift would be safe staffing.
Thank you so much, Dr. Rice! So exciting to share our work to address psychological trauma in birthing people AND #laboranddeliverynurses and get feedback from incredible scholars like @audreylyndon
What a thrill to see this work recognized. Now on to system change!
@VUNursing#PhD#student & Conway Fellow @MaggieRunyon shared her work with Dr. @audreylyndon of @nyumeyers at #ENRS2024. Thanks for the tips Aubrey!
