Nigerians please we need justice for Elozino Joshualia Ogege. My secondary school friend. She wasn’t just a classmate, she was my friend we sat together in school. She was a decent girl. Elo was not wayward.

They killed her Nigerians. They plucked her eyes while she was alive, breast and heart before she died.

She was a brilliant student, a first-class student from 100 level to 300 level at Delta State University Delsu.

She only went to look for a house to rent Nigerians😭

She told a security man working in DELSU, Onoriode (Onos), who had access to the school environment that she was looking for a house, he then told her he would help her get accommodation. That was how he lured her. Delsu claimed they are contract staff from a security company. Guess what? This security man is an Ex-convict.

He did not act alone.

He worked with other Yahoo boys including Desmond and their gang and with the help of a security supervisor identified as Nwosisi Benedict Uche. The mastermind was a Yahoo boy who came from Ghana, and got those Yahoo boys to look for a girl for ritual for him. He had 2 houses already in Abraka. Elo was not their first victim.

They planned it.

They waited for her inside the school environment, campus 3, overpowered her by putting something on her face and took her away.

They drove her out of Abraka into a bush.

According to their own confession, Elozino was crying and begging them to let her go even after they took her eyes alive she was still begging them. 😭

But they did not stop.

They killed her and removed parts of her body for ritual purposes to use for what they call “Yahoo Plus” money rituals.

They took those parts to a native doctor identified as Ojokojo Robinson Obajero, who they believed would perform money rituals for them.

The police tracked her phone and arrested them after the family reported she was missing because they couldn't reach her.

The Delta State Police PRO, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, confirmed that the suspects confessed and that the crime started as a missing person case before turning into a murder investigation.

Even the Commissioner of Police at the time, Muhammad Mustafa, confirmed arrests and said they were ritual killers.

One of the masterminds even died while trying to escape arrest.

But since 2018… what has happened? Elon have had no justice since 2018.

The case has been in court. Adjournment after adjournment.
Delay after delay. Years have passed. No clear justice. Are they bringing the judge?

My friend left her house to look for accommodation and never came back.

She trusted the wrong person a security man inside her own school. Delsu refused to show concern for their negligence. How can you employ an Ex-convict? Why would a security company employ an Ex-convict?

Elo is gone we know but we want justice. And till today, it feels like justice is still being delayed.

Nigerians, how long will this continue? How long will young girls keep dying like this? How long will cases like this be forgotten?

Please speak up. Please don’t let this case die. Please people I'm begging y'all to help us speak. They already confessed to doing it. They should have been sentenced to death already. All the people involved.

The Rebel Charismatic.

Some years back, my elder brother came down to Nigeria to do his wedding. I had the responsibility to organize it, he's based abroad. The chairman of the wedding was the then Archdiocesan chairman or cordinator of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, Abuja archdiocese. My brother too is a staunch member, in fact he is presently the National chairman of the Charismatic Renewal in Italy.

They said it was to be a Charismatic wedding, no alcohol was allowed. I no even talk or argue. I had invited some friends and I know what they take. On that day, I didn't only bring wines and Champagne for my guests, I made sure a Champagne was used for the toast. You needed to see how my bros and the chairman were sweating and uneasy, I totally enjoyed their 'holy uneasiness' in the face of beer and wine, it was cool. Worst of it all is that I was the Archdiocesan chaplain of the CCRN then or I was appointed shortly after that event.

The point here is, if you still see avoiding alcohol as holiness, you are an ignoramus. I don't take alcohol for purely medical reason. Health experts are asking people to drastically cut down on it or totally. I serve it to friends who like it, but I also tell them about the health implications.

I don't deny my guests who take it, what you can't do under my watch is drink too much of it, not in my house or event. Jesus said "not what goes into a man makes him unclean, but what comes out". There is no where else taking alcohol is reckoned as a sin in the bible. In fact, in Deut 14:26 you are told to use your tithe to buy it and drink with your friends.

What the bible does is to discourage it because of the effect it can have on people when taking in excess. When passages in the book of Proverbs talks about alcohol as mocker, it is telling you the dangerous effects of alcohol as a reason to avoid it totally, not because it is a sin.

This is not even about alcohol, it is about rebelling and trashing unneccessary laws that groups use to tie heavy burdens on their members. The church says dress decently, your group stretches it to 'don't wear trouser or tie wrapper or that'. You belong to such group and you are benefitting from the spiritual programmes they offer, but you love to dress decently whether it is trouser or wrapper and because your group put a ban on trouser, you are conflicted.

Sometimes you wear what they ban and feel guilty or pray they don't see you. My friend, if you are in this circle, I'm here to help you; be a rebel like me, break that rule and dress decently in your trouser or wrapper with audacity. Join the group in their fellowship as long as they meet in church, they can't chase you away, and they can't stop God from blessing you with any grace that must come from such fellowship.

Don't let some people choke you with additional rules. If you are very comfortable keeping such rules, go ahead still. We have people called Nazirites in the bible, they were forbidden from alcohol, shaving hair and were known for some other ascetic pieties. Samson is one of them. Yet, not everyone in Israel belonged to them, they were not more special or holier than the rest. God didn't use them more than he used others. Don't succumb to subtle religious manipulations masquerading as "heightened holiness"

Someone tagged me to a post someone made here on X. The quote reads: "For a young Christian seeking a close relationship with God, the Catholic Church is not for you."

In the comment section, she mentioned that her reason for saying this is because in the Catholic Church, the prayers are already written, and it feels like mere recitation. She asks: “When do you actually get to communicate with God in your own words and express how you feel?”

While I commend her openness, I find the post a bit shocking because the young lady mentioned in one of the replies under the post that she is a Catholic and even confirmed. The sacrament of confirmation is the sacrament of Christian maturity. A confirmed Catholic is considered mature in the faith. But the post shows a misunderstanding of what prayer truly is in the Catholic tradition.

This response is for every other person who may feel the same way about prayers in the Catholic Church.

First, the Catholic Church does not restrict anyone to written prayers. In fact, the Church encourages spontaneous, personal, heartfelt prayer. We have countless devotions that require personal communication with God:

1. Visitation to the Blessed Sacrament/Adoration, where you sit alone with Jesus and speak to Him freely from your heart.
2. Meditation on Scripture (Lectio Divina), where you reflect and talk to God personally.
3. Private prayer at home, morning and night, where you use your own words.
4. The Rosary, which includes deep personal meditation on the mysteries of Christ’s life.
5. Silent contemplation, where no written word is needed - only your heart before God.

Written prayers are not barriers - they are guides, just as Jesus Himself taught a written prayer: “Our Father…”(Mt 6:9).

So the issue is not that the Catholic Church prevents anyone from speaking to God. It is that many have not yet discovered the depth and freedom of Catholic prayer. The Church gives you both: ancient prayers that form the soul and the freedom to speak to God in your own words.
