BREAKING: The Republican Party is slammed with crushing news as the Supreme Court rules that Louisiana can redraw its congressional map to ensure it accurately reflects the state's demographics — giving Democrats a massive leg up in elections.

Louisiana officials were originally sued in 2020 because the congressional map gerrymandered by Republicans made only ONE of its six districts majority Black despite 1/3 of the state's population being Black.

That original MAGA version of the map was clearly designed to break the power of Black voters, a group that overwhelmingly supports Democrats against racist, plutocratic GOP candidates.

This ruling from the Republican-controlled Supreme Court is a welcome surprise. More cynical commentators are perhaps correctly suggesting that the court — embattled by a seemingly endless string of corruption and bribery scandals — is trying to shore up its legitimacy by pretending temporarily to be nonpartisan. We'll see if the ploy lasts.
