What a great opening night in the NBA! Detroit beat Boston 121-113, Philadelphia spoiled NY’s ring night with a 106-100, and the Thunder beat the Spurs 116-10!
I was very impressed with the Sixers defense in the second half of the Sixers vs. Knicks game! They had six guys end in double figures - led by Tyrese Maxey with 28 points.
The key to the Sixers victory was Anfernee Simons’s 3 threes in the second half and 13 total points off the bench.
I also want to thank our @Dodgers players for an outstanding season and all of the Dodgers fans for coming out to support! Although we weren’t able to three-peat, we have a great team that gave us back-to-back World Series Championships.
I want to congratulate the Milwaukee Brewers’ great owner Mark Attanasio, the players, the entire coaching staff, and all the Brewer fans on advancing to the World Series. @Brewers
I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my friend, the legendary former Michigan State Track & Field head coach Jim Bibbs.
Coach Bibbs was a giant in the state of Michigan and a true trailblazer. As the first Black head coach in MSU history and the first Black head coach in the Big Ten, he opened doors that so many have walked through since. But anyone who knew him will tell you his greatest impact wasn’t measured in wins or records. It was in the lives he touched. He was a mentor, a role model, and someone who genuinely cared about the people around him, on and off the track and throughout the entire Lansing community.
Cookie and I will be praying for his family during this difficult time 🙏🏾
We’re now down 2-0 in the NLCS Series after tonight’s loss against the Brewers, but the @Dodgers are heading back to home field for the next 3 games and the Series is far from over!
I’m in total disbelief my Commanders had such poor clock management in today’s overtime game against the Giants. All we had to do was kick the field goal and we would have won the game!🤦🏾♂️
I was honored to deliver the keynote address at the dinner for @jpmorgan@Chase’s Annual Infrastructure Conference in New York City this evening, which brings together leaders from global infrastructure companies around the world.
The evening was made even more special because four organizations who have partnered with my company JLC Infrastructure were in the audience to share the moment with me!
Thank you to the entire infrastructure team at J.P. Morgan Chase for the opportunity to speak before such a distinguished, international group of leaders. It was a privilege I won’t forget!
Today I had the privilege of speaking on @Cigna Healthcare’s “Leading with Purpose” webinar, sharing perspectives on leadership and mental health with clients, brokers and prospects.
Government and education employers are facing real pressure right now, from workforce stress and burnout to growing demands on their people. Mental health has to be part of how we lead, not an afterthought. I hope our conversation gave leaders and employees practical ideas they can bring back to their teams.
Thank you to Kim Funderburk, President of Government & Education at Cigna Healthcare, for the invitation to be part of such an important discussion!
Another win for my Dodgers!! Two key plays tonight were Max Muncy’s home run and Andy Pages’ hit to drive in a couple runs and seal the victory for us to advance to the NL Championship Series! I was also impressed with Tyler Glasnow tonight, who gave the Dodgers another great pitching night for the team 👏🏾
My @Dodgers took care of business tonight vs the Atlanta Braves 👏🏾 Dodger pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was simply dominate tonight. He had a playoff best personal performance with 10 strikeouts, while Freddie Freeman and Kike Hernández both hit a home run to lead the team to a 3-1 victory to take a 2-1 lead in the NL Division Series!
Cookie and I are very happy with Game 1 of the MLB NLDS against the Atlanta Braves - our Dodgers won 5-3 today!
A big thank you to all the Dodgers fans for coming out to Dodger Stadium where it was over 100 degrees🔥 We appreciate you supporting our Dodgers in extremely hot conditions!
I had a great time speaking today at the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Procurement Summit with our incredible Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration Maria Contreras-Sweet! We spoke to a packed room of small business owners about procurement opportunities to look forward to given all of the high profile sporting events heading to Los Angeles. It was important to me to address the audience about ways to prepare for the opportunities that will come and how to position themselves to grow their businesses. Thank you Mayor Bass and the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission for having me today!
Cookie and I enjoyed watching a 33-31 thriller for our Commanders - the first win of the season against the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks! It was a total team effort on both offense and defense led by our QB Marcus Mariota who finished with 3 touchdowns and managed the clock well. I’ve enjoyed watching how much our defense has improved from last year to this year these last few games.
It was great to see Commanders fan and NBA Champion Josh Hart at today’s game! I drafted Josh Hart when I was President of Basketball Operations at the Lakers and I always enjoy catching up with him.
I want to thank BMO Bank U.S. President, Aron Levine and BMO Head, U.S. Commercial Bank Tony Sciarrino for allowing me to be the keynote speaker at their executive dinner tonight where they hosted 60 CEOs and their spouses from around the country at Pelican Hill Resort.
I remember when Dr. Jerry Buss was building the Showtime Lakers and searching for someone who could bring a unique presence to the organization as a PA announcer. He wanted a voice that was powerful, memorable, and distinct – that was Lawrence Tanter.
As someone who was both a fan and a friend of Lawrence when he was disc jockey on multiple jazz radio stations in Los Angeles, long before he stepped behind the Lakers microphone, I could not have been happier. For more than 40 years, his baritone voice was the sound of the Lakers franchise and he was an integral part of many Laker Championships, right alongside us players.
He will be missed by more than just Lakers fans, Lawerence will be missed by the entire jazz community who loved his music and velvet voice. Rest in peace my friend!
Today the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art opened in Los Angeles’s Exposition Park! I want to thank George Lucas and his wife Mellody Hobson for creating this beautiful gift for the world to see.
I just had a good check-in call with our @Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels! I was happy to hear that he’s in good spirits, and I’m praying for a safe and healthy recovery 🙏🏾
