Hypothetical trade idea:
In terms of synergy improvement: The Magic and Jazz could really help each other out with a deal that could improve chemistry for both sides.
The Package:
Orlando Magic get:
•Jaren Jackson Jr. (PF/C)
•Keyonte George (SG/PG)
•Cody Williams (SF)
Utah Jazz get:
•Jalen Suggs (PG/SG)
•Wendell Carter Jr. (C/PF)
•Jonathan Isaac (PF/SF)
•Multiple 1st-round picks, seconds, and fillers
Then use the Jazz No. 2 pick to draft AJ Dybantsa (if available).
Projected Jazz Rotation (A+):
Starters:
•Walker Kessler (Leo)
•Lauri Markkanen (Gemini)
•AJ Dybantsa (Aquarius)
•Ace Bailey (Leo)
•Jalen Suggs (Gemini)
Bench:
•Wendell Carter Jr. (Aries)
•Jonathan Isaac (Libra)
•Isaiah Collier (Libra)
•Brice Sensabaugh (Scorpio)
Projected Magic Rotation (A+):
Starters:
•Jaren Jackson Jr. (Virgo)
•Paolo Banchero (Scorpio)
•Franz Wagner (Virgo)
•Desmond Bane (Cancer)
•Keyonte George (Scorpio)
Bench:
•Anthony Black (Cap/Aqua cusp)
•Goga Bitadze (Cancer)
•Tristan da Silva (Taurus)
•Cody Williams (Scorpio)
My take:
I think the current Jazz roster is mediocre right now, and they might actually need a trade like this to shake things up and get them out of that lower-middle-of-the-pack. It could help them build a much cleaner, stronger core for years to come.
For the Magic, this deal would instantly elevate them into a top team in the East. I just feel like Jaren Jackson Jr. and Keyonte George’s real potential is being wasted in Utah.
Of course this is only in assumption to their energies connecting with the team as it currently stands.
Anything can happen, and any single change, coaching, etc can shift dynamics of a lot of things.
BREAKING: The Orlando Magic have dismissed head coach Jamahl Mosley, sources tell ESPN. Mosley's tenure in Orlando finishes after five seasons, including three consecutive playoff runs from 2023 to 2026. Orlando had a first-round elimination for the third straight time Sunday.
