I’m glad you got to them better and rightfully recognised your judgement, but still — this couple really shouldn’t need to justify their relationship as if they’re in a Dhar Mann skit, Jack.
Why should being ‘clearly autistic’ make you think he was unworthy of her to begin with?
My wife and I have been secretly judging a couple at our church for two years.
She’s 5’6” Korean. Pretty. Social. Genuine, kind woman.
Her husband’s a 6’1” white guy. But clearly autistic.
He's shy. Rare to hear more than 5 words strung together. And when he does speak, it's unfiltered. Exactly what he's thinking, but nothing more.
We couldn’t help but think… she could do better?
Anyway my wife’s been getting to know her lately.
And over coffee last week she told her something that made it all make sense.
When she was 17 doctors told her she'd never have children.
She told all the guys she dated the truth. And all (understandably) bailed.
Except her husband.
He accepted her as she was. So she chose to do the same for him.
6 years after they married, she got pregnant. Their son's now 2.
I wonder how many people we judge upon closer inspection are living testimonies of God's love.
@MaggieAnnCyr@C_A_O1@ThinkInPeach Yeah, but why the heck should that be a disqualifier for people? As long as they’re happy with each other, what business is it of anyone else?
@ThinkInPeach Look, I’m glad you actually did take time to get to know them, but it’s like — their relationship shouldn’t need to be justified like some Dhar Mann skit. I mean, what business is it of yours?
@ThinkInPeach So because he’s ‘clearly’ autistic, that automatically meant he couldn’t be worthy of her in your eyes? That he couldn’t provide anything worthwhile to their relationship or make her happy?
Yeah, that IS pretty judgemental. Nasty, too. Especially in church. (1/2)
@garethgarfoot@BritainElects Don’t think they can make the first two accusations in a pret-ty damn white ward. But hell, when have facts stopped these fucking morons?
@James5555883379@BritainElects I mean, it’s either that or the people in Makerfield simply weren’t buying what Reform’s dog water of a candidate was selling…
@sitaradawn That’s the thing. It doesn’t change Lute character, rather it simply explains Eve.
It’s not ‘someone pretending to be someone else’. eve is simply who she used to be.
@Liberfach0 …. How do you know she’s Christian? Turkey is overwhelmingly Muslim.
Oh, cuz she’s fairer skinned and doesn’t wear a headscarf, like many Turkish women don’t. So the idiots who eat this shit up will jump to “poor white girl oppressed by brown women in headscarves.”
Idiots.
@Lute__CEO@Renzo147369 I mean, the retweet is compelling evidence, but not a definitive smoking gun.
Could she have realised she was giving too much away and deleted it? Entirely possible. She equally could have just found it an interesting theory and didn’t wanna mislead. Let’s just be nuanced here.
