The rented 1957 Chevrolet, while his 1958 Chevy wagon was being serviced, did not have snow tires and the roads were icy.
His rental car slammed into a telephone pole and turned over on its right side.
The accident left him a quadriplegic, and Roy Campanella would never walk again.
