Like fellow Hawthornean Brian Wilson, #EmittRhodes didn't merely write songs. He painted: Sublime miniatures of harmonic & melodic beauty; canvases sensitive to timbre & tonal mood; direct lyrical expression ("lonely leaking words") of unguarded feeling, one side dark, one light.
The first dog to enter Freud’s life was ‘Wolf’ a German Shepherd he procured for his daughter Anna in 1925 to provide her safety during her long and sometimes nocturnal walks around Vienna.
He promptly fell in love and the family were never without dogs in their household again.
