But in addition at least 200,000, possibly 300,000 died because they refused vaccines after they were made available. Most of those deaths from vaccine refusal occurred with delta and BA.1 omicron waves in 2021-22

I need to correct an error in an earlier post.

I said that @realDonaldTrump could take some solace from the fact that his 34% approval rating in CNN’s latest poll was one point higher than the 33% approval rating John Roberts’ Supreme Court earned in Pew’s poll.

Well, a new Quinnipiac poll shows that Trump’s approval rating is 32%, so he’s one point beneath the universally reviled John Roberts Supreme Court.

This month Congress passed the biggest bipartisan housing law in decades, and despite Trump throwing a tantrum, it became law when he refused to sign or veto it.

The problem now is implementing the bill, which would make homes cheaper and easier to build. And the person to blame is Elon Musk, who took a chainsaw to the federal government last year.

Because of DOGE, HUD lost more than 30% of its core policy workforce.

Trump handed Musk the keys and cheered it on. Then the White House budget office directed even more layoffs heading into the shutdown.

The people they fired weren’t waste.

They were the ones who process the paperwork, issue the regulations, and turn a bill into a house someone can actually afford.

Don’t take my word for it. A Republican senator said this week that DOGE came in with a broad brush and undermined these agencies’ ability to move quickly on new legislation. Republicans who wrote this housing bill are now worried the administration can’t execute it.
